In our glorious country, we are fortunate enough to have inherited incredibly rich and fertile land throughout its vastness. The importance of nurturing this land, whilst supporting the farmers and ranchers that encompass it, is our duty as responsible and temporary inhabitants.
Amongst these salient farmlands resides one like no other. One ultimately unique in its offerings and agricultural vision.
Fresh Origins, located near San Diego, California stands out. They are responsible for providing the top restaurants in America with pristine micro greens, flowers, and exotic vegetable items.
A few years ago, our creative paths came together in what would become a long term creative relationship. Over time, we have continued exploring new creative frontiers.
Collaborating harmoniously and artistically in both savory and sweet manners.
In the aftermath of the covid lockdown, new life and opportunities arose. I was invited to visit their farm and meet the key players that are responsible for keeping this stupendous machine running.
Upon arrival I was immediately intoxicated by its size. My welcoming committee consisted of Laurie Altenbern and Nathan Choi. Each of which plays a vital key in bringing the products to the chefs and cooks everywhere. I was introduced to everyone as we walked around.
A gentleman by the name of Tiago Castro, Operations Manager, kindly took me around and unveiled the chlorophyll creatures that sing with flavor and beauty.
Each tent held more beauty and wonder than the previous and I became gloriously overwhelmed with all that lay before me. To make matters even more amazing, I was asked to create a special flower blend of my own. I gleefully accepted. As much as I can explain the details, the photos tell the story in ways where I might fail.
